    Medicare is a government health insurance program administered by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

    To be eligible for Medicare, you must be at least 65 years old and anĀ American citizen or permanent legal residentĀ of at least five years in a row. You may also qualify at any age through disability or by having end-stage renal disease or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
